Tracker must be returned to Port Credit Yacht Club (PCYC) during the hours of 0700 to 1600 to the PCYC Communications Office only, NOT to any PCYC Staff, wait, bar, harbour, etc., or to any volunteers currently running the Children’s regatta (Steerers and Four Sisters). The PCYC Communications Office is located to left in the lobby of the main entrance to the PCYC Club House.

Trackers must be clearly labelled with Skipper’s/Person-in-Charge (PiC), name, boat name and tracker ID #, found on the small silver label on the bottom left of the tracker screen.

Do not bring the trackers to the Party on Thursday night.  We will not have the facilities to collect them there.

With the exception of those racers still racing on the LO300/L0600, all Trackers must be returned to PCYC by 1600 Friday afternoon.  If they are not delivered by then you will be responsible for shipping them to YB Tracking in the UK, at your expense.

Please note that the tracker agreement all racers signed clearly stated that with the exception of:

“Racers who retired, all trackers must be returned to PCYC within 90 minutes of finishing the race.”

LO300/LO600 Splits & Starting Sequence Posted -

LO300/LO600 Splits & Starting Sequence Posted HERE

Scratch Sheets Posted HERE

It is the responsibility of each competitor to review the Splits & Starting Sequence Document and Scratch Sheets to verify that:

  • They are in the class and course they are intending to race.
  • Their rating is correct.
  • The class’ rating band matches their rating.

And report any issues to registrar@loor.ca.

It is incumbent on a sailboat to start in the start, class flag, whose rating band includes the sailboat’s rating. This supersedes any published scratch sheets or web site. If there is a difference between the Splits & Sequence Document and the Scratch Sheets, the Splits & Sequence Document prevails.

Thank you for registering for LO600.

  • If racing Double Handed or Fully Crewed and have not raced in the LO300 in a previous year, please supply the resume providing the details on the required race.
  • If racing solo, the Person-in-Charge must be a member of the Great Lakes Singlehanded Society (GLSS) before the start of this year’s LO300.

If you need to submit a resume to compete in the LO600, please do so by Tuesday, July 4, 2023.

If you don’t meet the requirements for participating in the LO600, LOOR will refund the additional fee for the LO600, if already paid.

MMSI or MMSI Exemption from LOOR required for LO300/LO600 -

All those who have registered and entered their MMSI, please ignore the rest of the email as it’s being sent to everyone who has registered.

This email is to clarify the requirements around the MMSI field.

The LO300/LO600 is an OSR Category 3 and as such a DSC radio with MMSI is required under the OSR. MMSI are free and available from the Government of Canada HERE, if your boat’s radio is MMSI capable.

LOOR understands that not everyone has upgraded their boat’s radio to be DSC capable, so will grant an exemption for 2023 for LO300/LO600 participants if their boat’s radio is not DSC capable. To request an exemption, please send an email to registrar@loor.ca requesting an exemption with the following information.

  • Boat Name
  • VHF Radio Manufacturer
  • VHF Radio Model
  • VHF Installation date, if known.

LOOR will then send you the exemption.  LOOR will put the exemption number in the MMSI field of your entry.  If you have been granted an exemption for the Susan Hood Trophy Race, you do not have to request it again as it applies to all LOOR OSR Category 3 events in 2023. LOOR will ensure it is carried forward.

To reiterate, as part of a complete entry for a LOOR OSR Category 3 Event (Susan Hood Trophy Race, LO300/LO600, and LOSHRS Race 4), the MMSI Field needs to contain the MMSI number assigned to your boat’s radio, or the exemption number provided by LOOR.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.

If you have questions, please email them to registrar@loor.ca.
