Race Course Update Sail For Hope (PHRF Spin, Non Spin and Multhull Classes) -

Good morning from a soggy but slightly improving Brenton Cove!  Welcome to Sail for Hope 2023 in support of our friends in Lahaina and Maui.
For Classes 1 through 7, today’s race will go around Conanicut Island Counter Clockwise.

  • Due to the ILCA Class Master’s North Americans and the M32 Worlds also taking place in the bay, we will be slightly revising the course to keep clear of their race tracks.
  • Therefore, we will be using the South Bay Race Chart marks and will list them in order of rounding.

From the Start which will be in the vicinity of the northern point of Fort Adams:

G, (Gould Island) To Starboard. (This mark was added last night in amendment 3 of the SI)
22 To Port
20 To Port
N To Port
Finish in the vicinity of the starting line.

To reitierate. The decision to leave Gould Island to Starboard is to keep clear of the ILCA (Laser) Masters and M32 Courses which should be North and East of Gould Island.

BE AWARE of their race courses and amend your tactics and stategy to avoid our friends in the other race courses.

The social function will be at Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard and will commence at 1600.  Come on over after racing!

Sail Newport Race Committee. Susie Reilly. PRO.
