Lummi Island - Greetings Racers! Just wanted to clarify that you're rounding Lummi Island today to port; not Lummy which was an unfortunate typo.
A little background on the name: In 1792, the island was first by Spanish explorers Galiano and Valdez as Isla de Pacheco. It later was known as McLaughlin’s Island. The name Lummi Island was was made official by the U.S. Geodetic Survey in 1853, and there are several different theories on the origin of the name. One theory is that the name referred to “luminara,” because of the colossal bonfires seen by the Spaniards as they arrived, a name the Lummi tribe later took as their own. The other is that it referred to the L-shaped longhouse on Gooseberry point, whose tribal name sounded like Lummi.
The Lummi Nation is the third largest tribe in Washington state and the original inhabitants of Washington's northernmost coast and southern British Columbia.

Please login to your Owners Corner on this platform to pre-purchase your party bracelets! Due to the requirements of the WA State Liquor Control Board to track all bracelets back to those participating in the event, there are extra steps required when you buy the bracelets at Race Week. Getting them secured in advance saves everyone alot of time and theses will be available for you when you pick up your Skipper Bag! EASY!

C Dock slip assignments will be sent out in mid June.
Unpaid competitors: please note that after May 31, there is a $150 late fee attached to your event registration so please complete your registration today or tomorrow. Once your registration is paid, you'll receive your moorage code for Cap Sante Marina.

The Paperboys Are Coming! - Hello Racers!
EXCITING NEWS! Race Week has secured Vancouver BC band, The Paperboys to play at the party Monday, June 24 from 6-8 pm! Tom Landa formed The Paperboys in 1993, and the band's success has been epic and includes a Juno Award (Canada's equivalent to a Grammy) for the album, Molinos. We can look forward to a playlist without borders: Celtic reels, Mexican folk, New Orleans brass band music, classic pop songcraft, bluegrass...so much FUN is coming to Race Week this summer June 24-28, 2024!
